On December 15, 1999, Opal J. Trumpp was found murdered in the basement of her home, located at 14130 Barton Road, just west of Leonardville, Riley County, Kansas. The suspect approached and left this rural residence on foot. Investigation revealed that a weapon was used.

This homicide took place between 6:30AM and 8:30AM on Wednesday, December 15, 1999.

A $5,000 reward has been offered for information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for this homicide. Additionally, Riley County Cimestoppers is offering $1,000 for information leading to an arrest, and the family of Mrs. Trumpp has a $5,000 reward for information that leads to the conviction of the person responsible for her murder.
