LATEST NEWS: Suspect committed suicide in custody.

On September 27, 1997, at approximately 3:16AM, officers of the Dodge City Police Department were dispatched to 2906 Dora Lane, Apartment D, Dodge City, Kansas, to investigate the death of Shelly Ann Gehlen.

The investigation into the crime revealed that Gehlen left work at the Pizza Hun Delivery at approximately 1:30 AM on September 27, 1997, and went to her residence at 2906 Dora Lane, Dodge City, kansas. After numerous attempts to contact Gehlen, a co-worker went to the apartment and found Gehlen laying on her bed. An autopsy showed that Gehlen died as a result of strangulation.

A $5,000 reward has been established for information leading to the apprehension and conviction of the person or persons responsible for this crime.
