On September 21, 1999, William "Scott" Fateley, 41 years of age, was found murdered in his home located at 2445 Hobbs Street, Manhattan, Riley County, Kansas. The death occurred from a gunshot wound. There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.

This homicide occurred between Monday, September 20, 1999, 7:00 PM and Tuesday, September 21, 1999, 1:10 PM. Fateley was found by friends who arrived at his home to visit.
